Meletis was the name of the original landowner of the plot where Villa Meleti stands today. Since then, the area has been known locally as “tou Meleti” — Meletis’ place. Here, my grandmother Pepena and my grandfather Giorgis lived and raised their children, including my father, to whom I owe so much. So much, in fact, that I hope to repay him by offering the same values to my own children.
This land was once home to a humble yet dignified life. The family sowed, harvested, tended their garden and animals, and lived with integrity and strong principles. Their home was always open — to friends, neighbors, and passersby. It was a place filled with warmth, love, and true hospitality.
In 2008, I began to dream. I imagined how this place could come back to life, how it could evolve and grow. I started drawing plans, measuring, clearing the land, and restoring the old house. The idea of building my own home here never left my mind.
From 2008 to 2020, the vision matured. In 2022, construction began, and after two years, in 2024, Villa Meleti was completed — not just a building, but a continuation of our family’s story. A place that welcomes every guest and invites them to experience the authentic spirit of Kassos.
Villa Meleti was created with the intention of offering genuine hospitality, just as I experienced growing up. We want our guests to feel at home, to relax, and to connect with the land and its people. We are always available to guide you, suggest experiences, and help you discover the island through the eyes of a local.
